Somewhere along the way, the diet industry has made us believe that healthy eating has to be:

โ Boring
โ Bland
โ Difficult
It's almost like suffering is somehow proof that it's working.
But we've never found that to be true.
In fact, we think that's the main reason why so many diets fail.
Nobody wants to spend the rest of their life feeling deprived.

Most diets seem to start with a list of things you can't have.
๐ซ No bread
๐ซ No pasta
๐ซ No dessert
๐ซ No carbs
๐ซ No fun ๐
And for a while, people manage. But eventually real life shows up.
๐ A family dinner
๐ A birthday cake
๐ A holiday
๐ A craving
And suddenly you're "off the plan" and feel bad about it.
Or you go back to your old habits until you find a new diet that sounds promising and the whole thing starts all over again.
Exhausting, right?
We don't think healthy eating should work like that.

What we love about the Mediterranean approach is that it focuses on what you can enjoy more of:

Not constantly being hungry.

That's a much more enjoyable way to live.

When most of your meals are built around satisfying, nutritious foods, something interesting happens.
You stop feeling like you're constantly missing out.
Because you're already satisfied.

Food simply becomes easier.
And that's the part most diets get wrong.
They make you feel like you're constantly missing out.

This is another area where we think people make healthy eating harder than it needs to be.

๐ One pizza doesn't destroy your health
And you definitely don't need to "earn" your favorite foods.
When the foundation of your diet is strong, there's room for flexibility.
That's one of the reasons we've maintained our weight loss for so many years.
We don't try to be perfect. We aim to be consistent.
And those are very different things.

If a way of eating makes you miserable, hungry, and obsessed with food...
it's probably not a good long-term solution.
Healthy eating should make your life better.
Not smaller.
Most people don't fail because healthy eating is hard.
They fail because they're trying to follow approaches that make healthy eating unnecessarily miserable.
